BIG BOSS- A Copied Version of Hollywood’s ‘BIG

“Big Brother” is a reality game show, which was started on July 5, 2000, in the US.
Initially, it was started as a social experiment and later on it has become a cast of
bromances and showmances.
At the time of each summer, 16 people of different age groups and different
backgrounds are chosen to enter into the “Big Brother” house, where they will be
in no contact with the outside world and be forced to compete in physical, social
and mental competitions aligned with their fellow housemates. The age group of
all the houseguests was much more diverse.
The US version of Big Brother is the longest running in the franchise according to A few years back, India has also started casting this reality game
show in Bollywood and slowly it was moved to Kollywood and Tollywood.
But in India, the name was changed to ‘BIG BOSS’ and has grabbed the hearts of
many people and been successfully running with many seasons.

Bigg Boss: The most Sensational Reality Game Show in India

Bigg Boss is the most prominent reality game show in India, which is broadcasted on famous TV channel ‘COLORS’. There have been around 7 versions in a game show in 7 different Indian languages.

The first Bigg Boss was debuted in Bollywood (Hindi Language) in the year 2006. Later on, it has extended its presence in other languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, and Marathi as of 2018.

Hindi Bigg Boss:

The first season was started in the year 2006 on Sony Entertainment Television with Arshad Warsi as host and the prize money was 1 crore. The next season was hosted on Colors with Shilpa Shetty as host. And for the third season Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan was the host, whereas Salman Khan has done hosting for the fourth season. Both Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt had done the hosting for season five whereas Salman Khan alone continues to host the show successively since season six till date.

Kannada Bigg Boss:

Bigg Boss Kannada was the first south Indian adaption reality game show. The first season was hosted by Sudeep in the year 2013, debuted on ETV Kannada. Season two was also hosted by Sudeep but aired on Suvarna.

Sudeep alone would be hosting the game show for seven successive seasons and all the seasons till now have had 50 lakh as prize money.

Bangla Bigg Boss:

It is the Bengali version of Bigg Boss that was produced by ETV Bangla, Mithun Chakraborty as host. The season two was aired on Colors Bangla in the year 2016 and was hosted by famous Bengali actor Jeet.

Tamil Bigg Boss:

In the year 2017, well-known actor Kamal Hassan had hosted the show on Star Vijay with prize money of 50 lakh.

Telugu Bigg Boss:

Telugu Bigg Boss was produced on Star Maa with Jr NTR as host and the season two is being hosted by actor Nani at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. The prize money is 50 lakh.

Marathi Bigg Boss:

The first season of  Bigg Boss Marathi is being aired on Colors Marathi with Mahesh Manjrekar as host. The prize money is 50 lakh.

Malayalam Bigg Boss:

Malayalam Bigg Boss is aired on Asianet with Veteran actor Mohanlal as host and the prize money is 1 crore.
